- To celebrate the joy of being alive
- To inspire inner peace and joy through yoga and diverse mind-body practices
About the Founder
Alive Yoga was founded by yoga teacher and body-worker extraordinaire, Liz Levy. She leads an incredible Mindful Vinyasa Class on Friday mornings and offers bodywork throughout the week. Liz discovered yoga and bodywork simultaneously back in 1989, and has been passionate about supporting others as they discover their path to presence and joy ever since! Liz’s deep, hands-on knowledge of anatomy informs both her bodywork and her yoga teaching.
Liz also has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and has been a student of shamanic healing for many years. Liz’s yoga training includes years of training with senior Iyengar teachers, including a month of study in India with the Iyengar family. Liz has also studied with Tony Briggs, and has taught anatomy in Tony’s teacher training program. Currently Liz is enjoying learning the Ashtanga practice with John Smith. Liz is deeply grateful to have learned from some of the very best teachers, and to be able to offer to her students a safe place in which to explore and discover.
